BioBuilde at the
Olympics
Dr. David Pascal's Bio
Dr. David Pascal grew up in Los
Angeles, where he was the City Cross Country Champion, ran the
fastest mile at the California State Track & Field Championships,
and was the Athlete of the Year.
He ran Cross Country and Track
for UCLA. After UCLA he ran for the Santa Monica Track Club while
competing on the World Circuit (Zurich, Berlin, Helsinki, Stockholm,
Oslo…). Dr. Pascal graduated from UCLA in 1984 with a B.A. in
Psychology and from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in 1988
with a Doctorate in Chiropractic.
He has taught continuing education
courses for Los Angeles Chiropractic College on injury rehabilitation.
He has been the subject of a cover story in Bicycling Magazine.
In the late 1980’s Dr. Pascal helped design a new drug testing
system for elite athletes. And in 1989 he developed a unique technique
for the treatment of low back disc injuries called “Power Flexing.”
It is being taught in the chiropractic schools and has saved thousands
of people from low back surgery.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Pascal has
been treating high school, college, and world-class athletes for
over 17 years. He has been the attending chiropractor at countless
athletic events. This summer he had 14 of his athletes that were
under long term care qualify for the U.S. Olympic Track &
Field Trials. Five went on to make the U.S. Olympic Team and a
sixth qualified for the Para-Olympics. He also had eight foreign
runners make the Olympic teams of their respective countries.
The Americans he treated went on
to win a total of six medals: 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze.
Three weeks ago his Para-Olympian set a new world record in the
200-meter dash.
Dr. Pascal uses a unique combination
of chiropractic, cold laser therapy (which unlocks neurologic
and muscular blocks), allergy elimination (which can get rid of
allergies without the use of drugs), nutrition (like Biobuilde
Amino Acids) and full body detoxification programs. Since last
summer, several other Olympic and World Championship athletes
have begun regular care under Dr. Pascal to help their bodies
stay injury free and perform to the best of their ability in a
safe and legal way.
In the 2004 Athens Olympics, after
winning the 100 Meter Gold medal, Justin Gatlin was asked by Pat
O'Brien on NBC what he thought was the number one reason why he
won. Justin said, "I won because I was able to stay injury free."
Last summer Dr. Pascal appeared
with Justin on the Discovery Channel's Fit TV. The one hour special;
“Peak Performance: Secrets of Superstar Fitness: World-Class Athletes”
said: “Being a full-time competitor means an increased risk of
injury. At this level of competition, Olympic sprinter Justin
Gatlin has to make sure to take care of his entire body, and that
includes the recovery of it. Sports medicine plays a key role
in minimizing any damage, so Justin visits chiropractor Dr. David
Pascal on a regular basis.”
